Choosing to learn foreign languages was the best decision that I ever made. From both a personal and professional perspective, it has opened doors and led to some truly amazing experiences. For this reason, I am passionate about promoting the benefits of learning languages to different audiences.
Are you a school teacher? Whether you work with primary school children who are taking their first French classes or GCSE students about to choose their A-levels, I would be delighted to come to your school and give your pupils a taste of what languages have to offer. By sharing my experiences of living abroad and working in exciting environments like the United Nations and Premier League football clubs, I will make them see languages in a whole new light.
" We were fortunate enough to have Rob come and give our Upper School pupils a lecture. It was incredibly well received by our pupils and staff. Rob engaged with the pupils brilliantly and the presentation was pitched at just the right level. His presentation will have made a positive impact and a genuine difference in encouraging our pupils to pursue their language studies. "
David Turpin, Head of Upper School at Thomas's Battersea
" Rob spoke passionately and informatively about his life and work in languages. The pupils were enthralled at the range of work that he has completed. Rob struck just the right note with the pupils and I can wholeheartedly recommend him for similar talks and seminars. "
Thomas Underwood, Head of Modern Languages at University College School
" The feedback has been unanimously positive! Students have found it really encouraging to hear about your background and they said it made them think about different ways to use their language skills in later life. It's wonderful for us teachers to watch the students hearing about the benefits of language learning from someone other than us. "
Kate Wright, Head of French at Alleyn's School
" We would like first to really thank you for the assembly you gave. Across the years, you have inspired our pupils to reassess their learning of languages, and to value it. You pitched your presentation perfectly: for our younger as well our older students. "
Caroline Gehin, Head of French at Hampton Court House
" THANK YOU for your talk. It was so interesting and inspiring; the boys loved it and there is a huge buzz about languages today. It helps enormously to move foreign language learning from the abstract to 'real life' by hearing from people who have 'proper' jobs. "
Beth Martin, Head of Modern Foreign Languages at Eltham College Junior School
